Volaris Airlines Starts New Nonstop to Guadalajara from San Antonio International
San Antonio marks the first entry into Texas for Volaris.
Volaris announced today it will begin new nonstop service from
San Antonio to Guadalajara, Jalisco. Volaris will offer twice‐weekly nonstop service between
Guadalajara and San Antonio beginning December 14. This route represents the 27th destination that
the airline operates from its hub city of Guadalajara. San Antonio marks Volaris’ first entry into Texas
and its 12th market in the United States.
“The addition of Guadalajara as the fifth Mexican destination with nonstop service from San Antonio
International Airport reflects the rapid progress we are making to enhance cultural and economic ties
with our city’s biggest trade partner,” Mayor Julián Castro said. “I am looking forward to a successful
partnership with Volaris.”
Volaris CEO, Enrique Beltranena, recognizes the importance of the market segment targeted by the new
flight. “The segment of travelers visiting friends and family between the US and Mexico is the largest of
its kind in the world, which is why it becomes critical to satisfy the demand for this much needed service
on both sides of the border, offering flights at outstanding fares and backed by high quality services.”
Flights will depart from Guadalajara at 11:40 a.m., arrive in San Antonio at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday and
Saturday, and depart from San Antonio at 2:45 p.m. and arrive at in Guadalajara 4:45 p.m.
Volaris started operations in 2006 and has Mexico’s youngest fleet, made up of aircraft averaging 4
years in service from the Airbus A319 and A320 families. Currently, Volaris operates a fleet of 41 Boeing
